Reclaimed, natural materials, energy efficiency, recent technologies, and craft intensive application have earned this home many awards including this one, the 2011 New Home of the Year from Fine Homebuilding.

The Vermont Street Project took first place in the FSC Design & Build Award 2010! "Thoughtful sourcing of materials is part of our ethos and certainly was a priority when building The Vermont Street Project. 100% of all solid wood used in the home, from the timber frame, to flooring, to exterior siding was FSC certified wood," states Jonathan Orpin, Founder of New Energy Works Timber Frame Homes. The award was received November 17th, at the Greenbuild 2010 annual conference.

A High Performance Home is an “Energy Star” new home constructed by a licensed builder under the Oregon Residential Specialty Code which has its own space conditioning and water heating systems, complies with the specifications listed in the BETC (Business Energy Tax Credits) Administrative Rules and is intended for sale to an end-use homebuyer. A High Performance Home must include a Home Builder Installed Renewable Energy System that produces at least 1 kWh per square foot of conditioned space on an annual basis for photovoltaics or the equivalent for other technologies as listed in the BETC Administrative Rules.
